My mom has a number of glass figurines in our living room so I picked one up and pt it against a light, the colors changed and look pretty interesting. Then I took a flash light and placed it in the dark, therefore my final project is gonna be a number of glass figurines in different light sources.

Jeff Wall Contrast

In Jeff walls flooded grave, many pictures were composite to make one complete picture. Another of his work that I find similar is story teller, it looks like to me that its made up of about 5 main pictures. The bridge, under the bridge, the green grass, the black grass, and the trees on the right. The people also look included into this composite. These two are similar because they seamlessly natural and looks like a straight photograph. The flooded grave is the best example. the only thing in this picture that looks composite is the reef, but the surrounding area looks very natural because most graves look like that.During my viewing of the exhibit, I realized that because of the large size, it is harder to see the compositions.

final idea

For my final, I will be taking shoots of people from the back, like a portrait but showing the back of thier heads, to see wat their seeing.

Happiness faces, sad pockets

For the happiness project, I wanted to bring out the idea of paying for happiness and if its really worth it. The cool blue of the lighting also gives me options on where I can put the solider, either in the snow or desert.

Karl Blossfeldt: leaf

In this photograph by Karl Blossfeldt, the lighting placed on the leaf helps bring out very fine details and shadows. The even tone background also enhance the object by creating a very strong contrast against the leaves, but also gives it a soft blend against the stem. The composition is also interesting, with an up close view of the leaves that's witnessed but that eye.

rusted wheels

I took this picture in a class trip to the south street seaport and this picture was taken on a ship on the port, and these wheels are for the sail ropes.
